Water Quality Models can be used to estimate the environmental impact of wastewater treatment plant discharges, industrial activity, commercial site development, and a full range of other activities.
MEI personnel have been on the leading edge of water quality modeling technology for over 15 years. In fact, current MEI personnel were integrally involved in developing some of the first water quality models used by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). Since then, the MEI staff has continued to specialize in developing innovative water quality models and analyzing modeling results.
Private clients and municipalities have retained our water quality modeling services…
- To aid in obtaining wastewater discharge permits.
- To modify their operations for environmental protection.
- To identify ways to mitigate environmental impacts of commercial and industrial activity.
- Wasteload Allocation Determination
Regulatory agencies use our modeling results…
- To determine wasteload allocations for issuing discharge permits.
- For evaluating Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL’s) as required by the Clean Water Act.
